Theme: “Coalition for Democracy and Civil Society” holds an «Open Doors» Day

 

Public Association “Coalition for Democracy and Civil Society” holds an open doors day for representatives of the media and international organizations from 11:00 to 13.00 on 11 October to familiarize themselves with the work of the organization and the Coalition’s call center functioning.

 

For the first time, the Coalition for Democracy and Civil Society is opening its doors to show how its work is arranged from within, and to tell about its main activities, which is especially important in the run-up to the presidential elections scheduled for October 15. The organization carries out long-term and short-term monitoring, and monitoring compliance with the legislation by all participants in the electoral process.

“It is extremely important for us to show that the Coalition for Democracy and Civil Society works transparently, guided by the principles of impartiality, neutrality and on the basis of existing legislation to strengthen the rule of law and protect human rights in the Kyrgyz Republic,” said Azamat Adilov, President of the Coalition.

 

In order to promote transparency and fairness in holding elections through the organization of qualitative, objective and independent monitoring of the pre-election process, the voting day and summing up the results, the “Coalition” is launching  its Call Center, which on October 15 will receive all information from short-term observers of the Coalition From all regions of Kyrgyzstan on the monitoring of the voting process.

For the first time in Central Asia, the Public Association “Coalition for Democracy and Civil Society” started the practice of using SMS reporting from observers. Journalists and representatives of international organizations present at the rehearsal will be convinced of the readiness of short-term observers for monitoring, see the interaction between the “Coalition” and observers, and SMS received from the observers at the Call Center.

“We are testing the technical aspects of the new SMS reporting system, its pros and cons, the skills and abilities of the observers that they received during the trainings,” said the coordinator of the short-term surveillance project Raushan Sadyrbaeva.

On election day, 1,000 Coalition observers will monitor at 500 polling stations.

 

 

 

 

The goal of the Coalition for Democracy and Civil Society is to contribute to the process of transparency and fairness of elections through the organization of qualitative, objective and independent monitoring of the pre-election process, the voting day and summing up the results.

This goal is realized through observation of the pre-election process, voting day and post-election process, informing the voter about his rights and duties, polls, and interaction with all participants in the electoral process.

Public Association “Coalition for Democracy and Civil Society” is an independent, neutral, non-profit and non-governmental organization.

The mission of the Coalition is to build a civil society, strengthen the rule of law and protect human rights in the Kyrgyz Republic.
